CART BEFORE THE HORSE

acoustic trickery abound

I run around to come around

and make you come down

this town has come undone

and I’m unbound

from all this frivolous entropy

I am quick to say I’m faster than me

put the cart before the horse

of course I am divorced from

institutional agony

I bleed me and flow freely

frown upon my gown undone

I am a tempest of tempestuous blood

  1. I really like the rhythm ‘I run around to come around’ a lot. The last line is great too – tempestuous blood is a magnificent phrase. This has more of an upbeat quality to it – the rhythm is slightly different. I like it a lot
